And the QE's keep on coming....
Now.....MALAYA (1943) in 1/700 - due in December from Trumpeter.
And either this month or next, DREADNOUGHT will be out in 1/700 from Trumpeter - having already been available in 1/350 from both Zvezda and Trumpeter.

Aoshima has announced a 1/700 WW2 Ark Royal, which, surprisingly, will be the first plastic kit of this ship in true 1/700 scale. (The closest existing kit to this would be the very old, very simple Revell 1/720 kit). No due date on it though....

NOW THE VALIANT!!
1939 fit, 1/700 scale from Trumpeter, due some time in 2015....
I do believe we will have the entire WW2 QE class in 1/700. I suspect the same will apply to the US "Big 5" battleships pre-and/or post Pearl Harbor. Colorado 1944 has long been available in Japan under the Pit Road brand. The Trumpeter international release should be fairly soon.

Re: Great New Kits Coming!
Yes it is - Trumpeter will be releasing HMS Belfast in 1/700 in both 1942 and 1959 configurations. HMS Queen Elizabeth 1941, as well as 2 more fits of the Dreadnought (1915 and 1918) are also on the way. With Malaya now released and QE 1941 and Valiant 1939 on the way, the entire class will be available in 1/700 in WW2 fits and it seems the US "Big 5" will be as well.juliushark wrote:Hello I would like to know if the news about a kit from trumpeter (HMS Belfast in 1/700 scale is right) thanks

Re: Great New Kits Coming!
New from Flyhawk!
1/700 Dido class cruiser HMS Naiad...release date February 16, 2015
http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/pd5b2s ... 1423100227
The detail on the kit looks incredible!
You may recall Naiad briefly sighted Gneisenau & Scharnhorst in the Iceland-Faeroes channel at the start of Operation Berlin in January 1941. The Twins made a quick about face, quickly shook her off and eventually entered the Atlantic via the Denmark Strait.
Naiad was sunk in the Med south of Crete by the U-565 on March 11, 1942.
As already mentioned in this thread, Flyhawk will also be releasing HMS Aurora in 1/700, though it may be in her post-war fit as Chungking. This should be later this year.
These 2 kits can allow us Rheinubung modelers to start building the members of the 2nd Cruiser Squadron which sailed with Adm Tovey from Scapa and later escorted Victorious when she launched her air attack on Bismarck. - Aurora and Galatea from the Chungking kit, and the Naiad kit could be used for Hermione. We would only need a Colony Class group 1 kit to be able to build Kenya. At the rate that new kits are being produced these days it would not surprise me if we do get Colony and Town class ships (groups 1 or 2) in plastic in the next couple of years.
Of course, one could say Norfolk, Suffolk and Dorsetshire are long overdue (apart from the venerable Airfix 1/600 Suffolk!).
