Not as heavy as Bismarck.Although i would of loved to see her vs Bismarck or Tirpitz now that would be a battle.

My favorite is USS West Virginia. Other than her experience as a target ship on Dec 7, 1941 her war started in late 1944. Her career was really quite distinguished, participating in a lot of actions. I also like her turbo electric design, with it's high degree of subdivision and extensive TDS (so much so after the rebuild that she could no longer pass the Panama canal with her new beam of 114 feet).

Not well known as these things go, but quite a modern and effective ship in the end.

All though if she was built HMS Tameraire would be a beautiful lady only the Yamatos would be able to match her.

HMS Vanguard at 45000tons 30kts and 4 X 2 15"guns-although never in action was a beautiful, well constructed ship; who IMO would have been a fairly even match for Bismarck. Scharnhorst is my second favourite-she too had beautiful lines. :cool: :cool:
