USS GRUNION DAMAGE

Post by frontkampfer »

The recent discover of the lost GRUNION & 3D image shows significant damage.

I have a question to Bill Jurens and all who would have knowledge on analyzing damage. How much of the damage to the upper part of GRUNION would be attributed to depth charges & what would be attributed to implosion/impact with the bottom? Would be interested in everyone's opinion.

Thanks!

No experience, but I would say that the damage is too extensive to come from depth charges, once a single charge ruptures the pressure hull the sub goes to the bottom, the water pressure do the rest. Just my opinion!

The picture is nice, but would have to see a much more detailed illustration, and preferably some original imagery, to provide any sort of coherent commentary.
