One should google each ship by name--Hipper, Prinz Eugen, Blucher, Deutschland, Admiral Scheer, etc.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
They stood and Earth's foundations stay;
What God abandoned these defended;
And saved the sum of things for pay.
