Schnellboote S130

Post by RF »

Members of the forum may be interested in a press article I saw in the Wolverhampton Express and Star last night.

A private collector (unamed) has acquired the frame of S130, which was involved in the action in 1944 where US landing craft engaged in D Day landing preparations were ambushed off Slapton Sands and some 700 US soldiers were killed, with a view to reconstruction and eventual use as an educational tool.

I would love to hear more about this, if you still have info. I realize that this is 2 years late...I did a bit of research on schnellboots, and still have interest for them!

They stood and Earth's foundations stay;
What God abandoned these defended;
And saved the sum of things for pay.
