OK. Sorry about the confusion .....

Step 1
Go here - https://cgsc.contentdm.oclc.org/digital ... p4013coll8
(The Ike Skelton Combined Arms Digital Research Library - WW2 Operational Documents section)

Step 2
Find Search Box in upper RH corner of screen and type in "GRAF SPEE"

Step 3
Look for "Battle of the River Plate between the British cruisers Ajax, Achilles, & Exeter and the German ship Admiral Graf Spee".
Click on it

Step 4
The cover of the document will show up on your screen along with several buttons in the upper RH corner. Press the one with the vertically downward pointing black arrow to D/L the document to your PC as a PDF.

Hi dunmunro,
I'm glad you found it interesting. I was shocked to run across it in what is essentially a US Army library archive.

Yes, thanks very much for posting that link Byron! :ok:
And a few photos of 'The Spee' that I hadn't seen before there too. Cool!

We anchored very near to where GS went down back then. Foggy as poo-poo.

Early '70s. It was on a fam ride on USS MacDonough, Unitas* #something or other. Been a while.

*Unitas was the USN training with South American navies. We went counterclockwise around the continent.

Ticked another continent off my wish list. I was a most ardent tourist everywhere I went. Daibutsu (鎌倉大仏) was amazing.

Unitas, yes, I know. Was then something left of the wreck above water?

The wreck was scavenged in the 1950s, I think. It was a hazard to navigation according to ComSoLant's XO.
