HMAS FANDANGO

Post by gusgus2 »

HMAS Fandango was sunk in 1918 at Archangel in northern Russia -It was part of a force sent by Churchill to forestall the advancing Bolshevik forces from capturing the armanents stockpiled there.
This was post the German surrender, and therefore very interesting in that Britian was now virtually still at war after the armistance....
Having had a relative who died on that ship, we would appreciate having some feedback or further information regarding it's story....its actual role in the blockade, the type of craft, ships compliment, its history et al.
cheers, eelseelseels

I found the Official Despatch that describes the operation durking which the Fandango was lost. It only mentions the Fandango once on page 5 but it does provide great detail on the entire operation. I can only post three images per post so I will create three separate posts.

Hope this is useful
