My X-Craft model

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao all,

since there is a very good initiative on Tirpitz KTB ( war diary ) I think it can be useful to know more and support new comers knowledge on this fantastic ship ( my favourite as my avatar shows :D ).

Here a link were you can see photos of my X-Craft model on going.

Those were the midget submarines that succesfully attacked Tirpitz while anchored on KaaFjord on late September 1943.

My X-Craft

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao Steve and all,

Thanks very much for the nice compliments

Yes, I think I will add the figures while I wait for John Lorimer ( a real X-Craft survivor I had the honor to meet in KaaFjord last June ) infos about original colours and some other stuffs.

So I have to go and take some old Tamiya 1/35 soldiers,.. and transform them on X-Craft sailors, ...

This way museum visitors ( as this X-Craft of course will be back on Tirpitz Alta Museum were it belong before next june opening ) will be able to see the real proportions with the persons.

Ciao Antonio :D

Ohooooo, finally!!! :D

Was it really that dark?
I guess the colour was due to the commonly dark watered enviroment in which they were destined to operate, the northern fjord, during nightime...;)
