Hi all,

Have you seen this? It's pretty dramatic IMHO and really captures the intensity of the action! They do try to reproduce the historical sequence of events.

Only thing - I doubt any Japanese pilots dropped any bouquets in the aftermath!

In some Polish monographs about PoW and Repulse there are repeated sentences about placing bouguets by Japan pilots in place of sunk battleships to honour mens died in those ships.
With comment that it was start of the war, and later it was much harder to find such condolency.

I don't know what is source of that story, but it is quite old, so I would not dismiss that dropping.

I have heard that the story is true. However, the IJN was certainly commemorating the lost IJN aircrew, and possibly the lost RN crew as well.

Thanks guys....interesting!

That suggests these aircraft took off anticipating the destruction of the enemy or, at least, the loss of their pilots so carried bouquets in readiness?

I think so. Don't expet that they take flowers and made them on the air.
