There is a site that contains many of the naval classics in the form of free electronic books. http://www.gutenberg.org is an enormous online library.
A reading of some of the books by Captain Alfred Thayer Mahan USN is virtually mandatory for arm-chair admirals.

Mahan is the naval Clausewitz. His work influenced greatly the XX century. It´s sad that issues like naval theory combined with geo politics are not common discussion in this or other forums. It´s better to discuss theory than technical data that, at the end, depend on how the theory is carried out.
