This book is based on the unabridged original document for the hull design specifications. Has anyone seen or read this book?

Ulrich,

I haven't seen it but from what I read is basically a compilation of the original document.

There is a new trend in the publishing businness, it is called print-on-demand (if you already know it sorry). It consist in printing a book with a high quality laser printer and hardbounding it. They are printed in very small runs, may be even one book. The cost is pretty much the same. I have many of them in my library. It can be a new book or a scanned old one (as the Brassey´s Anual offered in Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/140218 ... 52-2837748). The real problem with these books is that the photos are really awfull, not so the diagrams and plans.

Just got a copy today. Looks like a fine book, but it is going to take some time to extract the information. My German is getting better, but the text is all in the real fancy script

There are several "Fraktur Conversion" programs and if these does not work (I have not used them) , ask for help. I will help you..........there are really only some letters that defy the imagination, the rest are not too far off the Roman alphabet. I certainly will help you...,
