Hello all,

May 9, 2009 marks the 100th Aniversary of the start of naval aviation in the Royal Navy. Here's a link to an RN web page on the subject which includes links to a timeline of events and a video with lots of great footage.

It's remarkable how many "firsts" were due to RN development and in many cases these went on to even greater heights in other navies - the USN in particular.

One thing I never knew is that RN avaiation started with an airship...
