rank & war record

Post by greenfield »

Hi ! I am new to the forum , & would like to trace a crew members rank & duties on board the Bismarck ?.His name was Georg Meyer , I think his rank was a korvette captain ?. His name is listed on the crew members list of over 2000 crew.
Any information would be greatly appreciated .Thank you.

Georg Meyer was a Faehnrich (midshipman/cadet). Beyond that I cannot tell you much of anything about him.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
They stood and Earth's foundations stay;
What God abandoned these defended;
And saved the sum of things for pay.

In view of the above replies, is it possible that the discrepancy in rank is down to the fact that we are discussing two different people with the same name here?
