On this rainy Sunday I did read this series of articles about Custers last stand.
I bought in 1985 a very fine thick cardboard also huge game from Italy:
Little Big Horn with 3 levels of terrain all expressed in cardboard.

There were 3 scenario's: the historical raid with Custers 7th with Reno as an advance scout guard, which he was surely to lose......and be butchered.
A second scenario with a full second cavalry regiment (2nd)...... which was a balanced game against the masses of indians.
A third game was composed of a large military expedition including 3 cavalry regiments (2nd, 7th and 10th) , 2 infantry regiments and the 2 Gatling guns.
In this scenario the Indians would be the ones which had to fight hard and clever to be able to escape.....
A very realistic game with Indian chiefs with rallying capabilities, US cavalry with mounted and dismounted sides on the counters.
Fragmental losses, a very realistic CRT...One of the few better advanced games of International Team, which had a couple of
very good and playable basic games: Zargo's Lords and Okinawa 1945, but, except for Mockba and Blue Stones, failed in developing good intermediate games
The best and both also highly professional two games of them were
Supermarina (on a huge German U-boat Grid map and
landsknecht).
