Jose - I enjoy these quizzes. Please keep them going. I am not very expert on the Royal Navy ships, but had figured out this one (Quiz #4) was a KG-V from the look of the bow.
One thing has just struck me, however, that i had not realized. Much has been discussed about KM Bismarck being such a new ship and being lost while so young in her life - launched in 1939 and lost in 1941.
You information on the Prince of Wales struck me hard that she shares the same short lived history. PoW was, like Bismarck, launched in 1939 and was lost to Japanese carrier aircraft attacks, I believe, on December 10, 1941. Her life was also very short, just like her opponent in the Denmark Strait!

I believe the Jap planes were land based, from Jap occuppied French Indo-China. Land based "Nell" bombers, half equipped as torpedo bombers. The Buffalo fighters that were supposed to cover them didn't launch early enough to be on scene.

Looking at the podium in the photograph I was just wondering who actually launched this ship - am I right in thinking that there wasn't an actual Royal with the title of the ship's name at that time?

If I recall, Princess Elizabeth was present at the launch and appears in another picture.
