Have taken the above quote from another forum for this question.
How would the N3 stack up against Yamato/Mushashi and the G3 against the Iowas or the proposed Montanas in a straight fight?

Interesting that the two British ships are the same displacement, with one of them longer, more heavily armored and faster.

I'm going to guess that most posters here are going to favor the British over all comers. I leave the reasons to others.

If it's the British ships as launched vs the others as launched (with suitable break in periods) I'll go with the latter ships. Now if you presuppose upgrades then that's another matter although I'm not sure it changes my opinion.
