Bruno turret on Prinz Eugen

I've just been looking at these pictures of Hipper class cruisers:

If you scroll down to the detail pic of Eugen's 'B' turret starboard side view (With the Flakvierling mounted). There's a compressed gas cylinder mounted near the turret ring. It's not visible in any of the other PE pics.
Can anyone shed any light into what this was for?
