Iranian is the next country that has decided deploy Ekranoplan's. Ekranoplan's are aircraft that fly by using was pilots call "the ground effect." Essentially a cushion of air near the surface of ground or water that produces extra lift. As the article describes that aircraft are to be used for scouting, be as one of the sources from author says it is more likely they will be used for suicide attacks. They would have an advantage in as suicide weapon since Ekranoplans have to stay close to the surface to fly. It would be difficult for radar to pic them up but if detected would easy pickings for any AA system.
