EUROPA

Post by Ulrich Rudofsky »

The Blohm+Voss shipyard is still able to handle the big ones. The Europa is in for a 14 day refit and is in Drydock #10. It always amazes me how they handle these big ship like toys.

Hola!
Blohm & Voss had also refit the Queen Elisabeth 2 a few years ago.
These shipyard has got a long tradition to refit the biggest ships.
The drydock "Elbe 17" is one of the biggest ones on the earth.
It should use in the 1940s to build the H-class battleships.
After the war it was partial demolished by the british.

Ulrich, thanks for the view. When boats are out of their element, they look even more enormous. On the "hard", even my 37' Silverton appears large!

Thanks Ulrich. Too bad this vessel isn't half as handsome as the old Europa, sister of Bremen.
