USCG and PRINZ EUGEN

A series of USCG photos from Kwalein and the PRINZ EUGEN. A crew had R&R at the lucky cruiser PRINZ EUGEN. [In my time we called it I&I ;-).] The hand signal is not a “manu cornuta” of index and pinky fingers, but the letter “Y”, thumb and pinky, in American sign language, an abbreviation for “I love you - I-L-Y”. I really don’t know what that signal means in the USCG or among divers……….

Ulrich, I always enjoy photos of my favorite ship. What is I&I?

Two very worthwhile pursuits! However, I read your original note to be saying that I&I was a nickname for Prinz Eugen. Did I ever get that wrong!

My syntax was off course.

PS: the wreck is actually of the ship named IX300 and/or USS PRINZ EUGEN
