Pictures of Bismarck in Norway

Post by BetaCam »

I´m new to this forum, but have had an interest in the Bismarck saga since I was a kid.
Today, I found these pictures on a Norwegian site dedicated to images from WW2. It shows several shots of the Bismarck while anchored in Grimstadfjord outside Bergen.

Welcome BetaCam!

Thanks for sharing. Those photos are interesting in that they represent a transition in the changing of her paint scheme while in Grimstadtfiord. They have painted out the black and white stripes on her hull, but have not yet painted out the dark grey of her bow and stern and the false wake (the false bow wave was retained).

Good stuff!

Does anyone know the names of support ships alongside the Bismarck in Grimstadfjord this day. It would be nice to build a diorama of this scene!

Very interesting set of pictures!

Worth looking at the other 12 pages also.
