I am building a model of the Bismarck and was looking at the many pictures on bundesarchiv.de. As I studied the photos I seen many obvious differences between the pictures and Trumpeters Model. I compared these photos to AOTS Bismarck and it was almost like two different ships. As I studied A.J. press #1, 17-19 I seen that there are some differences after "modernization" (assuming end of 1940 early 41). The problem with the diagrams in these publications is that the "prior to 1941" are incorrect, so trying to compare differences between a wrong drawing "prior" to see any changes made "after"....is impossible. The changes I have seen are that the vents around "Bruno" were turned to face aft, the rangefinders were removed from "Anton", and around the forward 15cm gun there are "vent" stacks added ( five on both sides, I believe). Here are my questions:
1. What are the changes made to Bismarck during this refit?
2. What is the proof? (photographic, eyewitness, drawings etc...)
I really appreciate any help
Dan

Re: what changes were made during Bismarcks modernization?
Thank you for your reply. I am wondering where I may find these pictures, specifically the ones I have copied below? Also, I have heard that a sonor was installed on Bismarck, was it during this period? Are there any diagrams/drawings or photographs of the sonor installed on Bismarck?
