The area was largely an estuary and typically shallow.

The wreck was scavenged in the 1950s, I think. It was a hazard to navigation according to ComSoLant's XO.

Ticked another continent off my wish list. I was a most ardent tourist everywhere I went. Daibutsu (鎌倉大仏) was amazing.

Early '70s. It was on a fam ride on USS MacDonough, Unitas* #something or other. Been a while.

*Unitas was the USN training with South American navies. We went counterclockwise around the continent.
