Re: The B29 Superfortress
My first look at a real B-29 was at Chanute AFB, Illinois, back in the 60's.* My thought was "they're smaller than they look." David glared at me.
*My brother was there for some post-boot camp school.

Re: Submarine jamming radio of enemy ship
Thanks OpanaPointer, I'll have a good read of the article. Heddy Lamar! how did you know that! I thought you were joking at first, some veiled reference to her singing, as a joke. I've rooting around WWII since 1957. (First saw "Victory At Sea" on the TV, instantly hooked. I told my paren...

Re: Are the Iowas Battlecruisers?
Assigned as "assigned to ship's company". I did nearly a year on New Jersey then volunteered to cross-deck to Missouri to replicate my experience with certain items. (Both ships were being fitted out for service after being pulled from mothballs one more time.)

Forget which carriers, if any, are included in this collection. (And I did the damn things.)

Checked, there are a few.

Re: I need help determining where a WWII Naval Carrier's Damage would appear
Hi. You should start looking for a plan of the ship, the closer you will find are the CV-5 – USS Yorktown – Booklet of General Plans in https://www.hnsa.org/manuals-documents/booklets-of-general-plans-online/. In them you can look for the danger areas, AV gas tanks, aerial bomb and torpedo magazine...

Concur.
It would be lovely to see a tabular representation of the ships deemed 'battlecruiser' (and those 'suspected' of being battlecruiser in the light of the formula I posted above.

Good points. OBB vs FBB in the Pacific. This pic is Oklahoma and Wisconsin. If you look carefully you can spot the difference(s). https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5b/USS_Wisconsin_and_USS_Oklahoma_H78940t.jpg/1125px-USS_Wisconsin_and_USS_Oklahoma_H78940t.jpg?201509251353...

Re: Was the H.M.S Hood the most powerful ship for 20 years?
Perhaps this formula will be a useful tool for evaluation. Perhaps not. Offense + Defense + Speed = 1 The above allocates the sum total of a ship to three factors, striking power, defensive equipage, and ability to get to the place where it's needed and then on to the next. The fun part is the somew...
