I had been under the impression that Leach was ordered to disengage at DS by Wake-Walker? I'm a little hazy on the exact sequence of events, but I think Leach turned away at 6:01-2 to open the range, and at 6:05 was preparing to re-engage when W-W ordered him to disengage completely, however it may...

providing they didnt send any silly messages home, very hard to find. Although the first convoy they attacked would provide the RN with a search area.

how many convoys would be at sea in the atlantic at the same time?

Might be a good idea for them to split up to maximise the headache for the RN

Hi

out of interest what was the POW`s gunnery like when she was fully worked up?

As she managed to hit BS in the historicall battle wouldnt it be fair to assume that she would be able to range/hit the enemy faster in these scenarios,as TR is fully worked up so should POW be.

I wish I had a chance to do something like that at school instead of building the usual candle holders/tables and chests of drawers. One thing you have to remember is that words mean different things to different age groups. I would assume the kids would be refering to the engineering/looks and shee...

The RN wouldnt feel to good about there new ship if they knew it could potentially suffer the same fate as the 3 battlecruisers at Jutland. I know they added around 1-2in deck armour to most of the Grand Fleet after Jutland and sent the Renown+Repluse straight back to the shipyards to get the same t...

Hoods armour

Hi

Obviously its a well known fact now that the Hood`s deck armour was weak against plunging fire.

How well known was this during her lifespan? The RN obviously knew as they tried to redesign/refit her but would any other countries know?

or have I just missed the search button!

Hello there

Hello

as someone who has a modest interest in Battlewagons and who is currently trying to restart my modeling hobbie(cut short by my nephew + an open window years ago!!) with a model of the Hood.

I must say I have enjoyed reading various threads on this site to silly hours in the night.
