Re: Battleship for Freedonia

It is around 1936 and I have been appointed as Navy Minister by Freedonia. We are planning to build a battleship or class of battleships. As Freedonia has reasonably good relations with all the World's major naval powers, we are able to use technology from any country. We even have a few engineers ...

Re: Teleportation: H Classe in place of Bismarck

Honestly, if H is ready to go for Rheinübung, than you have either BS or TP available too. So H and BS will go and the short legged Prinz will stay at home, or go to Norway.
Then we have a totally different can of worms

What about crew efficiency, were the Germans better trained and able to fire faster and more accurately?
As far as I understood, KM main artillery was more mechanised than other navies. So basically it was push the right button at the right time.

Re: West vs East

Indeed, many hold to the same view of socialism as Winston Churchill: Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. I still don't get it. You like the article, so I understand that you - like the author -fin...

Re: Bismarck firing procedures at DS

The loading cycle must technically faster than fastest possible firing sequence. Especially with the German firing techniques. Please note that neither turret direction nor gun elevation was at firing position during loading. Both moved after firing command was initiated. Both guns elevated individu...

You can keep pressure inside a boiler for so long. The failure was to support the opposition in Syria only verbal instead with hardware and logistics

Re: What if Hitler understood naval power?

. As for the war at large, one way Hitler could have had a better outcome would have been to enter protracted negotiations with the Western Democracies to try to regain the German populated areas of Poland appropriated by Versailles without actually invading.a defense treaty with them. There is no ...

Do you have a source for the targets Munich and Nürnberg.
I red Mannheim (BASF) as first target.

Re: What if no Normandy landings at all

If no landing operations in Europe shall occurs, than the Km has not lost the Battle of Atlantic. This would prevent the American troops stationed in England, reduce the supplies to Russia and Bombing war over Germany. With this in mind, I believe the Wehrmacht could stop the Red Army somewhere in U...

Re: Best choice for 45000 tons battleship

@ alecsandros

Why 2 additional guns? It will complicate and disturb the symmetry of the turret groups. KM found it optimum to fire in groups about every 10 to 15 seconds

It might be that not Ciliax messages were decoded, but transmissions of the Luftwaffe which informed local commanders that TP would be at sea.
