Cool. Thanks for the info. Sounds like one of those things I have to rent, at least. I'm not much on political mumbo jumbo, as I have my own beliefs on these things. I don't need Cameron, Moore, or anyone else telling me how to feel about things. LOL I get that from my Dad, who was an officer in the...

James Cameron's Expedition Bismarck

Has anyone seen this?

I have been considering it's purchase, but I am very weary of buying a DVD without some prior knowledge.

I haven't seen the remake, but I have seen the original a few times.

i have read several reviews and they state that nothing has been changed since the original.

Better special effects, etc, but no real plot to begin with.

It's advertised as a special effects movie, nothing more.

Not the Bismarck

But, it does show what a bunch of Lego and a bunch of time can do.

So, if the US was a dictatorship and not a democracy we would win more wars? Maybe true, but what's the point? I'm not saying make it a dictatorship, just get a few leaders that can make up their minds, without worrying about what the population thinks. Honestly, the best terms in office, per Presi...

The US political leaders have the ability to lose wars their military had won. In Korea the US Army fought two different wars: one against the North Korea Commie Army which was annihilated by MacArthur during and after Inchon; a second war after the Chinese Army intervened to save the battered up K...

LOL @ Bgile. ;) Karl: I'd place the bet on Tirpitz as well. Richelieu might be better in a broadside to broadside contest. However, once the manuveurs started, all bets are off. By putting the turrets forward, and no aft, you open the ship to free shots on the stern. Yes, you have less to armor, but...

German manufacturing was not up to snuff, apparently.

I have always been led to believe the opposite, however. Interesting stuff, indeed.

I imagine those are AP shells, which have a different detonator from HE, if I remember right. There could have been a significant flaw in those, if that's the case.

If you want throw US post WWII victories, or lack there of around, we can do that. It's pretty funny, and sad, to do. Being an American, I am sometimes very disappointed at what my government does. There will be a time when being the world's self appointed police force brings the world to the US doo...

I don't think 15" armament would have made any difference against Duke of York. Her problem was that she couldn't hit her enemy. You would logically expect more hits with the 11" guns than with 15", so ... even fewer hits with 15". Ok, I'm going to ask the stupid question here, ...

Didn't the British know the plans of Bismarck? I'm struggling to place the exact year that Bletchly Park cracked Enigma.
