Re: How did you come to be interested in Bismarck?
The Hood was still a name that people remembered and along with that, of course, "The Bismark". 50,000 tons of steel can look beautiful, don't you think? Regards. Oh yes! There is a romance of style there too. Everything is just too blocky now, jelly mould cars and awful Gherkins sproutin...

I'm going to get killed for this...RF wrote:So its back to the beauty contest.... who's the prettiest ship?
Prettyness is Hood no doubt. Bismarck is pure hardness. Graf Spee is graceful.
Though I love H.M.S Lion...this hurts my head

Re: Bismarck Painting - Your favourite view
You could always apply the principle of how I was taught to photograph commerical pictures of lorries and other suchlike
3 quarters front to back on in the case of Bismarck 3 quarters bow to stern.

Re: Photo Etched - how to?
Hi.
For my photo etch I use PVA or EVA (similar to PVA but imho stronger). For rails run a strip of the glue along where you need with a cocktail stick then if you have to gently scrape off excess glue, though with these types of glue it usually dries clear anyway.
hope this helps,

Re: Hi!
Hi Karl. Thanks for replying. I'm waiting to go to the Nats at Telford to get my Hood details from White Ensign, the gun barrels look stunning, going to take off the blast bags from the Trumpeter upgrade ste and use these other barrels. Doing her waterline and put her on a sea base. Schemes are anno...

Re: ICM Grosser Kurfurst 1/350 model
I'm currently building the Markgraf with the Gold Medal etch, nice etch btw. For other ships, if you wanted 1/350th you could always buy JSC, Schrieber, Wilhelmshaven etc card models and have them photo copied down on plasticard to 1/350th that is what I will do with my JSC H.M.S Lion. Here is the l...

Re: How did you come to be interested in Bismarck?
Ooh easy peasy this one:
I love the ears on the main turrets and I love the Malted Shreddies rangefinders.*
*When I was a little girl I remember my dad building the Airfix 1/600th ships and thought the rangefinders on top of the tower etc were Malted Shreddies.
