hey...
the fact that the twins had so much trouble hitting the Renown alone...shows that against Renown and Repulse, the chances would have even be less likely for a German victory...

although if the twins would have 15in guns...the situation would be totally different...

hey antonio... i think we talked about a very similar szenario before... where the KM takes control of the baltic, the Italian navy takes over the mediterranean and the French fleet controls the coast of France and helps out where it can....(maybe even start interfering with the trade routes) all th...

the odds were defiantly against the Graf Spee... and Karl, Langsdorf had the information that the heavy cruiser HMS Cumberland is nearby... some sources even say, that he thought HMS Hood, HMS Eagle and Dunkerque were around the corner.... so don't blame this man... he was a great captain and he did...

hey...
i don't think Scharnhorst and Gneisenau would have done much damage on Yamato, even if they had 15in guns...

though i think that Tirpitz and Bismarck would have almost defiantly gotten a win over Yamato...

Two ships of the Bismarck class....they could have beaten anyone...

hey... i must agree wat RF said... the German Light cruisers were rather unsuccessful... i put the tripitz in there, because i assessed the successfullness in the action the vessel saw... when u put in the impact the ship had on politics, etc... then of course the Tirpitz was a successful ship... I ...

hey bob... i must say, i also asked myself the same question... but as RF pointed out correctly...refueling in the Biscay is not the best thing you should do... wat about the idea of building up a whole protection center... several destroyers against torpedoes... tugs, to carry BS to France and non-...

hey... somehow this forum does not like the GZ.... to captain morgan first we are not in 1943...so why make that assumption?? it was never mentioned... i put out clearly the conditions of this battle, and thats how it would happen... not otherwise... when u want to go into 1943, then of course the L...

Hood led because she was the flagship. If Holland had flown his flag from PoW, then PoW would have led. Unfortunately, there aren't to many unfinished flagships running around. Using the leading ship is of course the naval tradition. Interesting that the German leading ship wasn't flagship and more...

hey...
yes i agree that Holland should have used the PoW as the leading ship...

but yet,
who would use the PoW, with all her unfinished work, her not properly working turrents...

u can't blame Hood for choosing Hood instead...

hey...
i agree with wat u said...

but the mission objective was to sink the Tirpitz,
which was NOT accomblished..

although the attack eventually lead to the sinking of the Scharnhorst (if im not mistaken), it did not really succeed...

almost everythin can be repaired...

hey...

to go to the least successful ship...

wouldn't that be the Tirpitz?

Lets leave out the old British BBs (Royal Oak, Revenge, etc)

or would it have been an Italian BB or the French BCs?
or the Japanese Yamato?

which one?

hey... i must say that all the disadvantages point to the German side... but yet..i recently heard that Raeder planned that the war started in 1946 not 1943? anyhow, thos would leave 6, 7, 8 years to successfully use ACs... with some assistance by the Japanese, i think it would be possibly at least ...
