Range

Accuracy

The problem is weighing the relative merits of each item...

Thanks again. What happened if some watertight compartments were flooded, the ship settled low in the sea, and water managed to enter ABOVE the watertight deck? I mean, wouldn´t the free surface effect of this water endanger the stablity?

Yes Karl, you are right, a jet bomber has a place in war. The problem with the XB-70 is that it lacked low level capability, so it was thought it would be very difficult for it to pass thru the Russians air defenses.
