Most certainly Repulse class, and Erebus sounds right for the monitor, considering the circular spotting top and the camo. The pic of HMS Erebus is worth a cent, I think. Not 1995 of them...

Nope, a rudder in the propeller slipstream can recover rotational losses (acting as a stator) which are greater than it's own friction (even in the slipstream). It's not much though.
