Re: Falklands again?
Would all this have something to do with the fact that there may be oodles of oil in the sea around the Islands?

Re: Lockerbie murdered free!
If there was a route of appeal for an alleged miscarriage of justice then the lawyers would have pursued it to the nth degree. They haven't. The circumstantial evidence points to a political and trade agreement between Britain and Libya; we shan't be allowed to know the full truth. With the SAS now...

You think that the allies would use the A-bomb on Germany, if just after Japan is defeated they drop one on Berlin would Hitler even consider surrender.

Re: Villers Bocage: don´t be fooled by the Firefly
How many American aces fought for six years? Do you think that might have something to do with the totals for German aces? The North Vietnamese air force had aces with much higher kill totals than US fighter pilots? Do you think they were that much more skillful? I don't. They didn't get sent "...

Re: Don't be fooled about the Tiger
I do believe that tanks must be compared against it´s similars as a battleship must be compared against another battleship. If someone here dare to compare a battleship with, let´s say, a battlecruiser or a heavy cruiser, it would not stand scrutiny. So, if we compare tanks then we must put the Tig...

Hi Dougieo: Isn´t it Battlecruisers by Roberts? Anyway, what I mean, is that instead of running, he should have entered Stanleý´s anchorage, and shell the BCs at short range and with no place for them to move and open ranges. He came so close to the entrace as to see the masts of the ships inside, ...

Re: Alternative WW1 Battle of the Falklands
his 8.2in guns would have done much damage to the thinly armoured BC. I believe both British battlecruisers were hit several times by 8.2 inch but I am not clear as to exactly how severe this damage was. Evidently it did not impair either ships fighting capabilities.... Invincible took twelve 8.2in...

Bill Jurens sometimes visits this forum, and he can give you the best information available. In the meantime, you can search the internet for the paper he helped write based on his examination of the Hood and Bismarck wrecks. The title is "A Marine Forensic Analysis of HMS Hood and DKM Bismarc...
