There actually is a movie about the battle of Tsushima Strait. It was made in Japan, apparently by the same guys who did Godzilla. Yes, they shoot each other, punch holes in their balsa wood sides, and even sink each other. Ultimately they do not do permanent damage to each other, and most repairs are just replacing small sections of each ship's soft balsa wood sides.
