Re: Replacement for AA guns in KM kits

WEM does the light AA guns in PE (both scales) and I believe Niko models have resin replacements for the 105mm AA guns and 150mm secondary guns.

As for metal barrels, you have B&D barrels, BMK, JSC (paper model company that also makes barrels in 1/400) and maybe others.

Good luck

Re: Calling Antonio Bonomi

Hi Antonio and all The Lützow is stopped, pending the arrival of a PE set from Tomsmodelworks with German portholes. As you know, I plan on replacing all the hull moulded portholes (actually they are just a simple hole) by PE, so I need about 300 of them. WEM as one PE set with them, but I would nee...

Calling Antonio Bonomi

Hi Antonio and all

There's an interesting discussion at Modelwarships about some photos of the Tirpitz (on a private note, I now have two 'ladies of the north' to build - one from Tamiya and the other from Kangnam).
Maybe you can help there.

Elbing Torpedoboats

Hi all

Anybody knows of good reference material connected to the 1939 (Elbing) Torpedoboat class.

Photos, plans and camouflage schemes are what I'm most interested in.

Happy modelling

U995 model

Hi all While the Lützow is being built, and to take my mind of all that it involves, I'm also working on a model of the U995, also from Heller in 1/400 scale. It's almost finished, a few photos are seen below http://thumb6.webshots.net/t/59/659/4/8/87/2858408870100131846GOeGOu_th.jpg http://thumb6.w...

Hi Antonio and all

I got the photos alright. I'll assemble the radar as you told me, because the frame is always clearly visible and would probably not be seen if glued behind the antenna screen.

I also hope to post some better quality photos on my site after Xmas.

Many thanks

Hi Antonio bellow is a drawing of Tom's instructions http://pwp.netcabo.pt/softsea/lutzow/temp/Tom.jpg I know that 1 (rear framework) is glued to the plastic structure in the kit. My doubt is if the antenna framework ( 2 ) is glued in front of 1 and then the antenna screen ( 3 ) glued to the antenna...

FuMO22 PE assembly

Hi all I recently bought the detailing PE set for the Heller Lützow and I’m having a doubt on the assembly of the FuMO22 radar. Is the back side grill (antenna screen) assembled upon the rear framework and the antenna framework upon the back side grill, is it the other way around or is the screen to...

Hi all

A new update is online as of 11/18/2006. A few more pictures, including the brass guns.

The digital camera is now definitely on my wish list.

Happy modelling

Hi all Not really an update but an announcement. As some of you know, I was planning on using brass barrels from NNT models for the 28cm guns and hypodermic needles for the 15 and 10.5cm guns. Recently I came across barrels from JSC, a polish company, for their Adm. Scheer class paper models. Not re...

Late war grays

Hi all

Does anyone have a reference (RAL, Humbrol, Tamyia, etc...) to the following DKM colors used late in the war:

Schiffstarnfarbe 31/1 Hellgrau - Superstructure light gray
Schiffstarnfarbe 31/2 Dunkelgrau - Hull medium gray

Thanks and happy modelling
