Re: Help ID Mystery Wreckage

Thanks for the help Nilsson! I think I see it now. Probably just a very odd angle of approach to the wreckage. Doesn't help that its so far out from the sub as well

Help ID Mystery Wreckage

So Bismarck, being on the top of my favorite ship wrecks to study list, always seems to toss in a surprise or mystery every now and again when I'm studying wreck footage. Most of the debris is fairly easy to ID (more or less anyway) but I have to say, this one has had me completely stumped :? . I ca...

Re: New Bismarck movie!!? But.....

I'd like it if they were to pull a kind of Letters from Iwo Jima/ Flags of our fathers thing with it. Although who knows what will happen. I don't see how they could make it a truly interesting film without doing a "both sides" kind of thing

Re: Bismarck construction flaws

I'm a supporter of the 4x2's being a better design than the 3x3's. Especially when you look at what happened with the Graf Spee(yes I know she only had 2X3's but the point is the same). You can spread out your fire evenly between up to 4 different targets if need be. Where as if you only had 3x3's, ...

WTB Schlachtschiff Bismarck - Das Original by Josef Kaiser

Hello, I am looking for the book Schlachtschiff Bismarck - Das Original im Detail by Josef Kaiser. I've been looking for this book for some time now without any luck and would love to get a copy. If there is anyone here who has this book and would be willing to part with it or knows where I can find...

Re: Bismarck Bow Decking

Thank you again for the great help Herr Nilsson. Are any of these photos you speak of readily available, such as the one where you can see the V on the port side, or are they not published as of yet. I would love to see them.

Re: Bismarck Bow Decking

Thanks for the help guys.
So would those boards been layed out in a W like pattern to all the anchors or only an /\ like pattern to the stem anchor?

Re: Bismarck Bow Decking

Anyone? I assume they are for the anchor chains. But i don't see them in the photos, at least the boards for the stem anchor which appear to at least go as far back as the other anchors. :?:

Bismarck Bow Decking

I have a quick question that I'm hoping you experts might be able to help answer. Can anyone explain these broken up boards that are on the bow of the wreck.? They don't appear to be in any of the B&W photos and they also appear to be simply laid on top of the thicker forward decking instead of ...

Re: Bismarck Armor plates

very interesting. So if I am understanding you correctly, none of the plates of armor used in either the main or the upper armor belt were made to the same size as the plate to the left or the right of them?

thanks

Bismarck Armor plates

Hello,
Might anyone know the dimensions of the armor plates that were used on the Bismarck?
Reason I ask is that I am currently building a 1/350 Revell Wreck site of the Bismarck and wish to accurately represent the displaced armor belt.

Thanks!

Re: Wreck Photos and Video's

Ah I see. Well I'm currently working on a new 1/350 bismarck wreck using the Revell bismarck, Lion roar upgrade kit, and the MK1 wood deck. So that's the reason I'm looking for the material. The major areas I've never seen photos/video's of are the funnel and the corresponding hangers on either side...

Wreck Photos and Video's

Hi,
Can anyone please tell me where I can get photos or video's from the various dives to the wreck. I only ever come across what little photos people either have uploaded on websites or videos like the recent nat geo documentary and the James Cameron film.

thank you
