Speaking of Bismarck's last battle. Did the Bismarck hit any other ship? I don't recall this in any other discussion. Did he (the Bismarck) make any strikes on King George V or Rodney?

The Port rudder was actually lodged into the center screw. Whether it happend during the torpedo explosion, or during impact onto the ocean floor we don't know for sure.

I think I can make it. I'll be at Fleet week for sure since I live near Central Park in NYC, its only a subway ride down to the harbor. By the way, anyone know how I can spritz up my Tamiya model of the Bismarck? I want to make it as realistic as possible. Also, are there any third parties that make...

From what I have heard, Luetjens was very tough. A person who rarely smiled, was very stern and gave orders that he expected to be carried out whithout argument. The ship's crew were afraid of him. He and Lindeman had squared off a few times during the operation. The crew, from what I had taken from...

Great photos Ulrich,

I just recieved James Cameron's DVD on the Bismarck. I like how the commentary defines the Bismark as the "Death Star" of the time. The ship looks to be in pretty good shape after all these years, probably due to the depth where "he" lies.

Antonio,

I just received James Cameron's Bismarck Expedition DVD, and upon reviewing it. It showed the German Markings on the Bow and Stern as "he" rests 15,000 feet in the Atlantic. Were the markings repainted once they left Norway?

Could it possibly be February 14th. The comissioning day? Also, wasn't Lindemann a heavy smoker and coffee drinker? I had heard that somewhere.

Ulrich,

Did Rodney and King George V sustain any hits during the battle? Did Bismarck hit anything?

Ulrich, Why do you think that if one of the turrets were raised, that it could not be presented in Germany? What was done with the one propeller of the Prinze Eugen? Wouldn't it be proper to recognize it as a symbol of the Kriegsmarine and not to associate it with Nazism? "I'm thinking of those...

Not to mention the error while stationed in the Fjord. The RAF plane was a Spitfire, not a twin engine. Excellent Audio

Just as an added constructive argument on this topic. Why couldn't the Luftwaffe help? They had the Fock Wulf Condor (FW200) which I believe was already being used to sink enemy shipping. These planes should have been able to reach the Bismarck to provide air cover right ?
