Re: New Poll: critical moment for Germany
I voted for the the moment where the Germans stood in front of the gates of Moscow and couldnt take it...
Stalin stayed in Moscow and if Moscow would have fallen, Stalin would have fallen, and Russia would have fallen...
But the Wehrmacht didnt take Moscow, and from then on it was only retreating...

Re: Colonel Stauffenberg and Tom Cruise´s movie
Hey Karl I dont agree with you... Hitler did betray Germany. He wanted to do everythin for Germany, he wanted it to be a World Power, etc, but he also wanted his War. He did not tell the comman man, but as Müllenheim-Rechberg said, Hitler always wanted his war. And there is no excuse for that. As a ...

Re: Euro 2008 Final: Germany vs. Spain
I gotta say... man that final wasnt good for us Germans... and then everyone said "the better team won" and after the first anger had passed, i Had to agree,,,, Germany just had one good match, where they beat Portugal.... and the rest was luck... The team did not perform as well as they d...

Plan Z
Hey in a book I read lately, it was stated that Dönitz fought for puttin U-boots into massproduction since the beginnging and that Raeder wanted to carry out his Plan Z. The fact that with this Plan Z he tried to create a "balance of power" with the RN. This though was not accomblished bec...

Ya, obviously thats not the only thing they learned...
i was simply trying to make an scenario where seabased messerschmidts would fight British carrierbased airplanes...which in my opinion wouldnt have been a happy ending for the RN...

Russian Subs
hey
does anybody knw details about the Russian Submarine Force...
except for the infamous Gustloff incident by S13, I've never read or heard about any bigger attacks.
Was there no Russian Navy in the Batlic Sea or did Stalin see no need for one?
adios

Re: Submarine + Surface Ship Actions
Yeah, I guess you are right concerning the speed...
even though the XXI subs could go 23kn submerged....which would have been around the speed HMS Rodney could go
its still a wonderful thought that Bismarck has 4 german subs accompaning him when KGV and Rodney approach for Final Battle....

Well, as this is hypothetical i was assuming the war started only in 1943 and the Plan Z was completed, therefore the Kriegsmarine would have had 3 carriers...

Re: Submarine + Surface Ship Actions
But wouldnt it have been a great strategical advantage?
The Capital Ships would have had to reduce speed, but in general terms, it would have been pretty effective or not?

Submarine + Surface Ship Actions
I was wondering if there was ever a Battle or a Patrol or any kind of Action in WW 2 where submarines and surface ships were in a battle group... As in, wouldnt it have been great when there were some U-boots accompaning a valuable Battleship like Bismarck and they'd attack the enemies when needed. ...

Re: Graf Zeppelin vs HMS Ark Royal and Victorious
So when you look at the scenario, everyone thinks that a well trained crew of British sailors with its aircraft crews, could beat a German crew. I mean, the fact that they had 20 years more of training, doesnt mean that it's neccessaryly better. What i mean is, that when the German pilots would get ...
