Re: Bismarck and her contemporaries
hi lwd in my statement about the (400+)shell hits on bismarck,,,,my point was that NO battleship took that many SHELL hits and DIDNT sink straight off,,,,,the torpedo hit that crippled her Was from a torp with much less power than those that hit the yamato. And hit her in a weak point(BLOODY LONG ODD...

Re: Michael Wittman and Tiger tanks

Re: Scoped rifles for every infantryman
If i may comment on this from a ex-Infantry/sniper point of view, You each make good points, My very humble opinion is 1. Yes most standard infantry rifles today are fitted with LOW powered scopes for the reasons you give (most standard issue rifles are NOT fitted with thermal sights), 2.YES (RF/lwd...

Re: Best cruisers of WWII and the best use of cruisers
lwd, YOU are a very hard taskmaster, How about we break this down into 3 sections, 1 the best cruiser in its capabilities (design, firepower, ect), 2 Best service record (including best single action by a cruiser), 3 the best use of cruisers in combat, Would that be better.
