If anyone wants to try this, the various Royal Navy and Commonwealth, USN and Japanese ships are available at the online game Fighting Flattops. There is a scenario designer tool too.

Re: Save the Royal Navy Site
Here is another really excellent RN site, especially for those who support RN Aircraft Carriers. This group features some of the most distinguished Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm and Royal Marine officers of recent times, including:Admiral Sir John Woodward, Admiral Sir Michael Layard, Rear Admiral Jerem...

I do not disagree with you, but one has to deal with the political types one has.

Re: What are the prospects for a European Navy...
I honestly believe we are a very, very, long way from any kind of 'Euro Navy'. That said, right now, the RN needs the support of everyone who believes the Service is important.

Re: What will the SDSR (SDR) mean for the Royal Navy?
I think this article is worth quoting in full as, to me at least, it has a certain ring of truth to it... David Cameron ‘rules out slash and burn defence cuts’ Robert Fox and Martin Bentham 08.10.10 David Cameron has intervened to prevent “slash and burn” cuts to the Armed Forces after holding a pri...

Re: Japanese winning move for WWII?
I don't say that a Japanese attack on the Soviets in 1941 would have been a winning move for them, but it would have been less of a losing move than attacking the US and British Empire...

Re: Royal Navy capable of another Falklands?
The fact is that the RN probably could not, at the moment, fight another Falkland's War under the circumstances of 1982 (ie, Argentina holding the Falkland Islands) for the simple reason that the premature retirement of the Sea Harrier has left the RN with no Air Defence fighter, since the Ground At...

Join the urgent battle to save this historic warship...
Now would be a good time to join the battle to save HMVS Cerberus one of the most historically important 19th Century warships remaining in the world. Built in Britain in 1868 Cerberus is the last Ironclad Breastwork Monitor in the world, she was the first major British Warship to dispense with sail...

Re: Bismarck and her contemporaries
Any weapon, still less a weapon system, that performs about two thirds as well in action as it did under testing and training is generally doing pretty well. In actual warfare there is just too much friction (to use the Carl von Clausewitz phase) ranging from the obvious enemy intentions and actions...

Re: German victory at Jutland
Agreed completely Ted. Britain's King Edward VII did personally offer the Kaiser a ''gentlemans agreement'' to limit the size of the German Navy to a still fairly substantial fleet, and the Kaiser could have had the sort of agreement that Ribbentropp obtained in 1934, where it was agreed Germany cou...
